“TANGO CLASSIC” is the newest captivating project of the Pleven Philharmonic, featuring the virtuoso instrumentalists Vesko Eschkenazy (violin) and Stoyan Karaivanov (bandoneon).
Together with the musicians of the Pleven Philharmonic and tango dancers united in one unforgettable tango experience—they will tell the story of tango in a concert in Veliko Tarnovo, part of the 2025 Summer Opera Festival “Stage of the Centuries.”
At the heart of this new musical journey are the virtuoso soloists Vesko Eschkenazy (violin) and Stoyan Karaivanov (bandoneon), joined by musicians of the Pleven Philharmonic and professional tango dancers. Brought together in a single immersive performance, they will lead the audience through the history of tango with works from the classical repertoire, film music, and world-famous tango melodies.
Arranged for violin, bandoneon, and chamber ensemble, the program will include works by Mozart, Osvaldo Pugliese, Astor Piazzolla, and others.
The open-air concert under the starry sky of Veliko Tarnovo will take place on 15 July, Tuesday, at 9:00 PM, at the Summer Theatre in Marno Pole Park.
