ABOUT THE FESTIVAL

„Stage of the Ages” is a classical music, opera and ballet format, held annually on the open-air stage in Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria. It is one of the landmark cultural events not only in the old capital, but in all of Bulgaria.
The event is organised by Veliko Tarnovo Municipality.



PROGRAM 2020

The 2020 Stage of the Ages programme features six spectacular performances, spanning from 10 July to 3 September.The fifth summer season of the Bulgarian opera theatres is holder of the prestigious label Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe 2019-2020 of the European Festival Association. Patron of the festival is Mr Boil Banov, Minister of Culture of Bulgaria.
