STAGE OF THE AGES 2023

Nine troupes will present nine impressive titles at the 2023 Stage of the Centuries Summer Opera Festival. Operas from Burgas, Varna, Stara Zagora, Ruse and Plovdiv and Musical and Dramatic Theater “Konstantin Kisimov” will be guests on the open stage in the historical Tsarevets fortress with their performances.
For the first time in Veliko Tarnovo and in Bulgaria, the Bucharest National Opera (Romania) will tour, and the new Bulgarian addition to the participating troupes will be the Stefan Makedonski National Music Theater.
On the second festival stage in the Summer Theater, symphonic music will sound and performances for children and youth audiences from the “Stage of the Ages: A Look at the Future” program will be presented.
Summer opera season “Stage of the Centuries” is the most successful and long-standing cultural product of the Old Capital. It is organized by the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo with the support of the Regional Historical Museum-Veliko Tarnovo and Municipal Tourist Agency “Tsarevgrad Tarnov” and is the recipient of the prestigious label “Europe for the Festivals. Festivals for Europe” 2022-2023.
