STAGE OF THE AGES 2022

Impressive opera, ballet and symphony music performances await the audience at 2022 “Stage of the Ages” Summer Opera Season. From July 9 to September 12 under the starry skies on the open-air stage in the former kings’ palace in Tsarevets Fortress, the state operas from Stara Zagora, Plovdiv, Varna, Ruse and Konstantin Kisimov Music and Drama Theatre will present their latest performances.
Special international guests this season is VIENNA SCHÖNBRUNN ORCHESTRA (Austria).
On August 6, the renowned Schönbrunn Palace Chamber Orchestra will present the glamor and romance of imperial Vienna with works by Mozart, the Strauss dynasty and their contemporaries.
The festival programme also includes the module “Stage of the Ages – A Look into the Future”, where three youth ballet and dance spectacles will be performed.
Summer opera season “Stage of the Ages” 2022 is under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria and holds prestigious label “Europe for Festivals. Festivals for Europe” 2022-2023.
Media partners of the festival are Bulgarian Telegraph Agency, Bulgarian National Radio, “Borba” and “Yantra Dnes” newspapers and Municipal Radio – Veliko Tarnovo.
After each performance on Tsarevets Hill, the audience can watch the audio-visual show “Tsarevgrad Turnov in Sound and Light” for free, as a present from Veliko Tarnovo Municipality.
