Master class in opera singing by Prof. Krassimira Stoyanova

20 performers from Bulgaria, Northern Macedonia and Austria have announced their participation in the first international edition of the Master Class in Opera Singing, which will be held in Veliko Tarnovo by the world-famous opera prima Prof. Krassimira Stoyanova. The event is part of the program of the VI Summer Season of the Bulgarian Opera Theaters “Scene of the Centuries” – project “Scene of the Centuries with a view to the future”, and is included in the cultural calendar of the Municipality.

The master class was held from August 21 to 24, and the participants were personally selected by Krassimira Stoyanova after all candidates sent videos with their performances. 13 singers were approved for active participation, with whom she worked for three days, and another 7 – as listeners. Passive participants will have the opportunity to attend the entire master class, and on August 24 Prof. Stoyanova conducted individual lessons with them. Vyara Shuperlieva, a piano teacher at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria, has been invited as accompanist.

On August 21 and 22 the master class was held in the Exhibition Halls “Rafael Mihailov”. August 23 was declared an Open Day, and the training was held from 10:30 to 14 and from 15:30 to 19:00 in a large hall of the Music and Drama Theater “Konstantin Kisimov”. The final concert of the performers from the master class started on August 24 at 7 pm in the theater, during which the diplomas for participation were officially presented.

The master class of Prof. Krassimira Stoyanova is organized by the Association “Silania” and personally by its chairman – violin teacher Dochka Mihova, with the assistance of the Municipality of Veliko Tarnovo, MDT “Konstantin Kisimov” and the Youth Home in the city.

Krassimira Stoyanova is among the most famous people from Veliko Tarnovo in the world. She has won numerous awards and state awards. She was also awarded the title “Kamerzengerin” by the Austrian Minister of Education, Arts and Culture, the highest title in Austria awarded to opera singers. Veliko Tarnovo is an artist with a bright international career, presenting the Bulgarian singing art at the most prestigious opera and concert halls and festivals in the world – the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall in New York, the Royal Opera House “Covent Garden” and “Royal Albert Hall” in London. , The Scala di Milano, Deutsche Opera, Staatsoper and Concerthaus in Berlin, Muziferain and Concerthaus in Vienna, Salzburg Festival, Nomori Opera in Tokyo, Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, Bavarian Opera in Munich, Washington National Opera, Zurich in Helsinki, the Opera Bastia in Paris, the Frankfurt Opera, the Teatro Liseo in Barcelona, ​​the Teatro Real in Madrid, the Dutch Opera in Amsterdam and others.

He has worked with the greatest conductors of our time, including Ricardo Muti, Zubin Meta, Georges Pretre, Sir Colin Davis, Bernard Heitink, Maris Jansons, Seiji Ozawa, Myung-Woon Chung, Franz Welzer-Most, Fabio Louise, Daniele Gatti and etc.

There is a huge opera and song repertoire. Part of her rich recording activity are the four CDs of opera arias with the Munich Radio Orchestra under the direction of Friedrich Haider and Pavel Balev, which have received numerous prestigious awards; a series of CDs with the Bavarian Radio, the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the Concertgebouw Orchestra, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra conducted by Maris Jansons, Ricardo Muti and Georges Pretr. She recorded a CD for the Gega New Music House, containing all of Puccini’s published songs. Her DVDs of “The Jew” with the Vienna State Opera, “Othello” of the Liceo Theater in Barcelona, ​​”Eugene Onegin” of the Dutch Opera were also particularly successful. in Amsterdam and at Covent Garden in London, The Knight of the Rose and The Love of Denmark from the Salzburg Festival, as well as Verdi’s Requiem at the Zurich Opera.
