The Russian Imperial Ballet will present on July 13 among the natural scenery of the Tsarevets Fortress one of the greatest ballet titles – “Swan Lake” to the music of Pyotr Tchaikovsky. The production, which will open the “Scene of the Centuries” 2019, will feature 45 performers who will use more than 120 costumes, said the chief artistic director of the Imperial Russian Ballet Gediminas Taranda. He said that in the traditional classical performance of Tsarevets there will be surprises – several new dances with choreography prepared by Maya Plisetskaya’s uncle, as well as two jesters instead of one.
The tour of the Russian Imperial Ballet in Veliko Tarnovo is part of the troupe’s world tour, dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the creation of the ballet by world prima Maya Plisetskaya.
